Qatar Cauldron

Project Details

Standing 16m tall and heavily illuminated, the Arab Games Olympic Cauldron certainly looked impressive after we had installed all the lighting.

With months of preparation, designing and testing we travelled the 7 hour plane journey to the fascinating country of Qatar and embarked on scaling the inside of the structure to install the LED light fittings.

Each of the 60+ RGB DMX light fittings has been controlled to create a variety of colour changing sequences depending on the time of day.

With heats of over 30°c outside, the fibreglass acted as a large greenhouse so the light fittings were carefully chosen to meet the blistering temperatures that they would be exposed to.
