The Fusion LX team stayed a little closer to home for this recent project, located not far from our Head office in Bishop Auckland. Located on the market place in the Old Bank Chambers, the Mining Art Gallery celebrates the work of local artists such as Tom McGuinness and Norman Cornish. Over 400 pieces of work are displayed to give visitors an insight into what it was like working underground for months at a time.
To enhance the visitor experience, Fusion were asked to install suitable lighting and audio equipment. The team installed an ultra-short throw projector which provides an exceptionally high-quality projection over a short distance, which is great for rooms that aren’t blessed with space. The projector is combined with four independent speakers that are emitting different sound effects, creating a 3D sound which immerses the visitor in the mining experience. Alongside this, Fusion installed two audio players that are triggered by movement sensors. When a visitor activates the sensors, background audio begins to play.
The Mining Art Gallery is well worth a visit and opens this Saturday (21st October 2017).
